Bobcat and Green Machine Partner to Produce Electric Compact Excavators

Electric Power Replaces Diesel In Select Bobcat Excavator Models This Year

Doosan Bobcat North America and Green Machine Equipment, Inc. have announced a partnership to bring electric/hydraulic power to Bobcat’s line of compact excavators.

Green Machine, a New York-based subsidiary of alternative energy company Viridi Parenti, Inc., will bring its high-tech, clean, and sustainable battery packs to the compact excavator line. The plan is to custom retrofit the Bobcat excavators with the proprietary battery tech.

The electric/hydraulic hybrid power replaces the Bobcat’s standard diesel power. Not only will these compact excavators provide power and performance equivalent to diesel engines, but will bring the lower operating costs, zero emissions, reduced noise, and near-zero maintenance requirements of battery power. This will particularly benefit operators working indoors or on job sites stationed close to other buildings or in public spaces.

As technology in the OPE sphere moves ever more toward the battery-powered corner of the market, both brands see this partnership as strategic. By teaming up, they can provide safer, more cost-effective machinery that provides construction support in nearly any project environment.

Bobcat and Green Machine plan to bring these dual-branded models to select markets beginning this year. To learn more about the Bobcat line of compact excavators, click here . You can learn more about the Green Machine/Viridi Parenti battery technology by clicking here .
