Milwaukee ToughShell Heated Jacket

Milwaukee ToughShell Heated Jacket

Jackets are all the rage this time of year, and for what ought to be pretty obvious reasons. But, why settle for a regular, old jacket when you can get your lawn work done in something a little more technologically advanced? The Milwaukee ToughShell Heated Jacket counteracts the stiff, cold air outside by blasting your core with 131° worth of sweet, life-affirming heat.

Milwaukee ToughShell Heated Jacket Features

  • Quick-heat function reaches selected temperature 3X faster
  • 3 outer zip pockets, 1 inner zip pocket, 1 low-profile battery pocket
  • One-touch LED controller with 3 heat settings per heat zone
  • Up to 8 hours of run-time with M12 RedLithium 2.0 compact battery pack
  • Heating zones: chest, back, & pockets
  • Washer and dryer safe
  • Adjustable cuffs and waist with drop tail extended back

Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot

The Milwaukee ToughShell Heated Jacket comes in two different flavors: black (not pictured) and red (can’t miss it). And, if there’s any question about whether or not the jacket has been appropriately named, Milwaukee used their ToughShell material in the construction of the outer shell. This is a slightly stretchy polyester that the company says provides 5 times longer life. Its wind and water resistance has improved because of the ToughShell fabric as well. Milwaukee has opted for a brushed tricot inner lining with a high loft insulation to keep the heat in.

Milwaukee ToughShell Heated Jacket

Milwaukee ToughShell Heated JacketFor comfortability, Milwaukee has included their FreeForm mobility gussets. These help with mobility. While testing this jacket, we did note that this model felt much less restricting when reaching above our heads than most heated jackets we’ve thrown on.

Finally, Milwaukee threw five different heating zones into the ToughShell Jacket. There are heating elements in the left and right chest, the back, and both of the front pockets. This isn’t a move we’ve seen from too many other manufacturers, and for us, its a big selling point.

The Milwaukee ToughShell Heated Jacket retails for $199 with a battery and charger. It comes with a 1-year warranty. You’ll also be able to find this as a bare tool for $149.

Best Heated Jacket Head to Head Review

The Bottom Line

We recently tested the Milwaukee ToughShell Heated Jacket, along with 5 other heated jackets currently on the market, in a recent Heated Jacket Shootout over on the PTR site. Overall, the ToughShell performed very well, finishing in second place. Ultimately, we liked this jacket’s build quality and comfort. but, most of all, we loved that Milwaukee chose to throw some heating elements into the pockets. Frigid days plus exposed hands really aren’t our favorite combination in the world, so it’s nice to be able to bury them into some hot pockets when the need arises.
