We recently attended the Craftsman Launch Event in Baltimore, Maryland. For those of you who don’t know, they now operate under Stanley Black & Decker, and they plan to roll out a variety of new tools over the course of the coming year.
Craftsman Launch Event OPE Highlights
At the Craftsman Launch Event, we learned that the brand will not only be rolling out the tools that you already know and love, but will also venture into some newer territory. We took some particular interest in those tools that we can use for landscaping.
For instance, we learned about their upcoming 60V cordless chainsaw (CMCS660), scheduled for release in Spring 2019. The saw features a 16″ bar and chain and a brushless motor. It will run on the brand’s 60V 2.5 Ah battery. The kit, including a battery and charger, should run somewhere in the $275-$300 range.
One of the other things that piqued our interest at the Craftsman Launch Event comes by way of the brand’s new lawn mower line. They’ve got push mowers, riding mowers, and even a zero turn model (Z560) with a 54″ deck and powered by a Kawasaki motor. The brand even has planned an upcoming T-Series lawn tractor line, which should all feature a 5″ turning radius.
Finally, we really liked some of the storage solutions that Craftsman has lined up. They’ve got the toolboxes that we’ve come to associate with the brand, but they’ve also come up with a new system for wall-hanging. The Versa Track Storage System (CMST22000) features a French cleat design and allows for a customizable hanging storage set up. This system should be available now.
Keep an eye peeled for these new products as they come in for review!
