Craftsman V20 Cordless Power Cleaner Review | CMCPW350

Craftsman Cordless Power Cleaner Elevates Garden Hose Pressure For Tough Messes

There’s only so much pressure you can create with the ol’ thumb over the garden hose tactic. While a nozzle helps, it’s still fairly low on the pressure scale. The Craftsman cordless power cleaner delivers significantly more pressure than your typical garden hose. Whether you’re out washing the cars or cleaning your dingy patio furniture, Craftsman has your back.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Portable
  • No pressurized water source required
  • Efficient water usage
  • More affordable than other models
  • 5-in-1 nozzle
  • 2 speeds

Cons

  • No gasket on the battery door
  • Lower pressure than top models

Craftsman Cordless Power Cleaner Performance

Cleaning Power

Of the power cleaners we’ve tested, Craftsman’s 350 PSI and 0.5 GPM are in the lower bracket as far as the overall scope of power cleaners is concerned. Craftsman takes those ratings based on the 15° nozzle and we deeply appreciate the clarity there. What that means is you’ll likely see a little more pressure with the 0° nozzle and more water flow from the larger settings. There’s plenty you can get done at this power level, but it isn’t going to replace your regular pressure washer . Those usually run 1500 – 4000+ PSI.

Craftsman includes a 5-in-1 spray nozzle attachment that gives you more options than most of its competitors. It includes 0°, 15°, 25°, 40°, and rinse settings. The 40° and rinse make a nice combination for cleaning your vehicle while the other settings are great for getting tougher build-up moving.

So what can you expect to effectively clean? Here’s a list to get you started:

  • Vehicles
  • Boats
  • Bikes
  • Screens
  • Patio furniture (including wicker)
  • Grills
  • Spot cleaning concrete
  • Siding
  • Gutters
  • Anything that just needs a rinse

Runtime

With the kitted 2.0Ah battery we managed to get just over 12 minutes of continuous runtime at the higher pressure setting. That’s in the range of what we expect from that size battery. If you need a little more trigger time, that’s no problem because this is compatible with all Craftsman V20 batteries .

Craftsman gives you the option to operate at lower pressure for more delicate jobs or to increase your runtime. Kick it into high gear to utilize all 350 PSI with the highest flow rates. Realistically, we used the power cleaner on high the entire time to get the quickest cleaning from it.

Craftsman Cordless Power Cleaner Design Notes

Size and Weight

Craftsman’s power cleaner is 38.25 inches from tip to tail—very close to the size of a regular pressure washer wand. At just 5.44 pounds with a 2.0Ah battery, it’s a bit lighter than some of the others we’ve had out hands on.

Clean With Any Fresh Water Source

One of the great benefits of power cleaners is that they don’t need a pressurized water source to operate the way pressure washers do. Craftsman includes a 20-foot siphon hose with their kit. Drop it in a bucket of water, drum, rain barrel, or even the lake. As long as it’s a fresh water source, it’s fair game. You can still work with a standard hose if it’s more convenient and there’s a quick adapter in the package for that.

Battery Housing

The idea of running a tool like this and splashing water around could be a bad idea for the batteries. Craftsman takes care of it neatly with a battery cover to protect it. There’s no gasket around it, though, so it’s really just a splash guard.

Additional Features

  • Soap bottle
  • Short watering wand
  • Mesh storage bag
  • 20-foot suction hose

The Bottom Line

While your pressure washer is still the best best for most of the heavy cleaning around your house, Craftsman’s V20 cordless power cleaner is fantastic for helping you clean your car and more delicate things that pressure washers might damage. What puts it in the win column for us is its versatility to use on the go with any fresh water source and the siphon hose.
