EGO Cordless Pressure Washer Performance

Driving this tool is a brushless motor fueled by two EGO 56V ARC Lithium-ion batteries. This duo delivers up to 3200 PSI; that’s a respectable number for a residential unit, and all the more impressive considering it’s cordless.

Indeed, at 3200 PSI, EGO’s is the most powerful cordless pressure washer currently available.

Simply put, a high PSI rating is an asset when dealing with stubborn fouling and debris like caked-on mud or oil stains. Likewise, it’s important when cleaning concrete surfaces, which generally requires upwards of 3000 PSI.

Pro Tip: Be Productive, Not Destructive – Especially for a cordless unit, the HPW3204-2 has some power under the hood. But don’t head out of the garage with the pedal to the floor. The Gone in 60 Seconds tack is neither necessary nor appropriate in many of the most common residential cleaning applications. Even a little too much pressure can crack vinyl siding, fences, and patio furniture. Moreover, it can damage gutters, soffits, windows, and ruin both natural and composite decking. Work smart. Start slow and increase your power as needed.

Specs

Of course, PSI isn’t the only performance dynamic at play here.

If you have a lot of area to cover, you should take note of the washer’s output volume, or, how many gallons of water it can move per minute (GPM). As a rule of thumb, more gallons equals less work time because a higher flow rate rinses wider swaths.

Editor’s Note: GPM vs. PSI is much like CFM vs. MPH with leaf blowers.

The HPW3204-2 can reach up to 1.2 GPM. Ideally, commercial pressure washers yield a minimum of 2 GPM, but EGO isn’t touting this model as a Pro-grade cordless solution.

Still, judging by the numbers, it very well may wind up having the whip hand over the competition. It’s already in the lead with PSI performance, and, meanwhile, its output volume is basically in step with comparable battery-powered pressure washers.

Additionally, EGO tells us that the HPW3204-2 should still provide roughly 60 minutes of trigger time. If you already have 56V EGO gear in your arsenal, you can swap out your batteries and minimize or altogether eliminate recharge downtime.

And you can take that one step further by utilizing the pressure washer’s three power modes. These include Eco, High, and Turbo, which you can use to tailor your cleaning force and augment runtime.

EGO Cordless Pressure Washer Design

Right off the bat, we like the position of the soap reservoir. EGO abandoned the traditional onboard design for a removable setup that connects directly to the hose gun. Instead of pulling detergent through the length of the hose, this arrangement more closely resembles a foam cannon.

Furthermore, this tool sports rugged wheels and a telescoping handle for compact storage.

Last but not least, quick-connect points make attaching and removing the hose, wand, and nozzles less tedious.

Pros

  • 3200 PSI
  • Hose gun-mounted soap dispenser
  • Easy to transport
  • Hose, wand, & nozzle quick-connect points

Cons

  • 1.2 GPM (but still in step w/ competition)
