Two Additions to Ferris ISX3300 Line Get Big Engine and Suspension Upgrades
Ferris, an OPE brand operating under the Briggs & Stratton umbrella, introduces two additions to the ISX3300 Series zero-turn mowers. The 5901872 and 5901881 models will be powered exclusively by the B&S Vanguard Big Block 40.0 Gross HP EFI ETC engine. They also feature the brand’s ForeFront independent suspension system, which Ferris claims is the most advanced system on the market.
This is the first engine in the Vanguard lineup to feature the brand’s electronic throttle control technology, which reacts to any applied load from the environment to maintain steady power.
What Is Ferris Saying About the Vanguard Big Block?
The all-new ISX3300 models — equipped with Vanguard’s most powerful engine yet — allow the mower to harness and put to work more of the power created by the engine. This allows the mower to make quick work of long, dense, wet grass for added productivity so our operators can go home feeling good at the end of a long day.

Vanguard Big Block
Vanguard claims that the Big Block engine is the brand’s most intuitive one yet. It includes ETC technology, which uses a flywheel speed sensor to detect any change in speed and sending a signal to the throttle body to keep the engine and blade speed consistent. So, no matter the environment or load applied, you get the same quality of cut every time.
The Vanguard Big Block engine also includes electronic fuel injection, improving the starting at any temperature. This also helps to ensure consistent performance at elevation, quick load acceptance, and reduced fuel consumption.
ForeFront Suspension
The ForeFront Suspension System comes with these ISX3300 ZT mowers as well. Ferris tells us that the powersport-inspired front suspension system lets you mow at higher speeds with more control over the mower. Keeping the front casters at the ideal orientation at any level of suspension, it eliminates caster chatter.
ForeFront suspension uses four solid control rods with hardened radial ends and dual-rate coil springs to resist component motion. You can select from five position adjustments for conditions, preferences, and attachments.
The ForeFront System also features shocks ensure maximum ground contact while absorbing terrain. It uses model-specific internal valves, oil capacity, and bump/rebound settings.
It wasn’t too long ago that we tested the Ferris 2100Z ZT Mower, which displayed a suspension that made us feel like we were mowing on a cloud, even at full speed. If the ForeFront Suspension System is an improvement, we can’t wait to try it out.
ISX3300 Mower Features
The Ferris ISX3300 mowers also include angled rear bumpers, high-back suspension seats, and a next-gen foldable ROPS that reduces noise at the ear when mowing.
It comes in both a 61″ and 72″ deck with a two-belt iCD cutting system, Hydro-Gear ZT 5400 Powertrain transaxles, and Hercules spindles.
