John Deere Expands ZTrak Mower Line

John Deere Shows Off New Ztrak Mowers at GIE Expo

At GIE this year, John Deere debuted a few new additions to their ZTrak line of commercial mowers. Notably, they expanded their EFI offerings with the 60″ Z955R ZTrak mower, and their diesel options with the 72″ Z994R ZTrak zero-turn.

John Deere 60″ Z955R ZTrak Mower

“As any commercial landscaper knows, productivity and fuel efficiency are key factors that can impact the profitability of their business. With the new Z955R mower, we are delivering another EFI model to our line-up that is designed to withstand the demands of a commercial landscape operation. From a reliable and powerful EFI engine to features that directly address and improve operator comfort, the Z955R machine is a productive solution for any commercial landscaper.”

-Natalie Haller, product manager, John Deere

The 60″ Z955R is powered by a 29 HP EFI engine. This type of horsepower enables the landscaper to tackle common applications like material collection, mulching, and mowing in thicker grasses. Plus, with the electronic fuel injection, the Pro landscaper is getting a whole lot better fuel economy.

But, it’s not just all about performance, the John Deere Z995R Ztrack mower also has comfort in mind. Two seating choices are available, both of which feature the ComfortGlide suspension. This allows the seat to travel up two inches both forward and backward, absorbing various bumps and jostles. The fully adjustable option includes lumbar support, a control dial, and a seat latch for easy seat lifting.

A Comfort & Convenience package is also available, which includes padded and ergonomic control levers, electronic controls for raising and lowering the deck, electronic blade engagement, and a Brake-N-Go system that allows you to set the parking brake and turn the key to start the mower up.

John Deere 72″ Z994R Diesel ZTrak Zero Turn

“We are committed to offering the commercial mowing industry a variety of equipment solutions that meet the needs of professional landscape contractors. With the 72-inch deck offering on the Z994R, we are able to provide even more options for the diesel market. Many of our customers manage areas with fuel restrictions, such as cities or governmental properties, which often require a diesel machine. With the addition of the 72-inch deck on the Z994R, we are providing customers with a powerful, reliable, and productive diesel solution.”

-Natalie Haller

John Deere has also expanded its diesel options with the new 72″ Z994R ZTrak, making this an ideal choice for the landscaper who manages larger spaces.

This edition of the Z994R features a Final Tier 4, three-cylinder, liquid-cooled diesel engine that cranks out 24.7 HP at 3200 RPM. This higher torque and lower emission engine can get through the rougher stuff with lower vibration and noise.

It also features a single 11.5-gallon diesel tank and easy-to-read fuel gauge, making it a great option for those longer days that require a lot of mowing. And, in those cases, you’ll be happy about the same comfort and seating features that John Deere has available on the 60″ Z955R.

The John Deere Z994R ZTrak is also available with a 54″ deck, or a 60″ 7-Iron side-discharge mower deck.

Stihl RZ 760i Zero-Turn Review

In the world of outdoor power equipment, Stihl is an icon–no argument about it.
