Toro Flex Force Blower Background

Axial vs. Centrifugal Fans

First, we need to review some important background. The 51822 is what we refer to as an axial blower. You may have no idea what this means. If not, this is your lucky day.

Simply put, an axial blower uses a fan that rotates on an axis. On the other hand, some blowers use a centrifugal fan, composed of enclosed blades that rotate on a circular hub. Generally speaking, the latter generates higher pressure than their axial counterparts.

However, there are certain characteristics that make axial fans a good choice for a cordless leaf blower like the Toro Flex Force. Namely, they generate high-volume, yet low-pressure, airflow. This enhances efficiency, so you should get more runtime.

Toro Flex Force Blower Performance

Beginning with the brushless motor, the 51822 gets its power from a 60V (4.0Ah) battery. This combo gives you a 605 CFM, 157-mph output that should easily tackle an array of yard chores. Incidentally, the fact that this model is more powerful in CFMs is a function of the axial fan.

Also, this tool’s acceleration isn’t bad at all, taking only 1.3 seconds to reach its maximum speed.

Of course, there are upgrades that make this tool stand out from previous models, as well. For example, this Toro 60V leaf blower comes equipped with cruise control and turbo mode.

Likewise, the battery performance isn’t too shabby, either. The Flex Force power system provides a roughly 140-minute runtime on low, 40 minutes on high, and about 11 minutes on turbo.

Toro Flex Force Blower Design

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the design is the handle. Specifically, Toro gave the Flex Force dual grips, which increases control and, thus, reduces fatigue and lengthens work sessions.

Toro 60V Blower Price

Finally, this blower sells for $299.99 and comes with a 60V (4.0Ah) battery and charger. Also, Toro includes a 3-year warranty on both the tool and the battery.
