Sun Joe SPX3000 Pressure Washer

Take a Look at the Best-Selling Residential Pressure Washer Available

Sun Joe, Snow Joe, and now Pressure Joe have all become pretty well known on the OPE landscape for their budget-friendly tools. In fact, the Sun Joe SPX3000 Pressure Washer has become the top-selling pressure washer on Amazon. But, what makes the SPX3000 such an enticing proposition, and who is the key demographic for this pressure washer?

10-Second Summary

  • 1800W/14.5 amp motor
  • Generates up to 2030 PSI at 1.76 GPM
  • Equipped with two 0.9 L onboard, removable detergent tanks
  • 34″ extension spray wand
  • 5 quick-connect spray nozzles: 0°, 15°, 25°, 40°, and soap
  • 20′ high-pressure hose, 35′ power cord, garden hose adapter
  • TSS trigger automatically shuts off the pump when the trigger is not engaged; saves pump life and energy
  • Price is VERY reasonable and a 2-year full warranty is pretty great

Key Features

The Sun Joe SPX3000 features a 1800W, 14.5 amp motor that generates up to 2030 PSI at 1.76 gallons per minute. These specs fall into line with what we’re seeing from a lot of mid-tier, consumer-grade (as opposed to heavy-duty, Pro models) pressure washers.

Under Pressure

However, it is important to note that while the Sun Joe SPX3000 has a max 2030 PSI rating, practically, it operates at 1450 PSI. This is a sizeable drop-off in pressure, and to be sure, you won’t be blasting away grime at that top end that’s stated. Why is that?

Well, it’s not because Sun Joe is trying to be shady in their marketing. As per CSA testing standards, the maximum pressure tested internally registers at 2030 PSI, while the typical working load at the nozzle registers at 1450 PSI. Sun Joe is actually being more forthright than most manufacturers in the pressure washing game, who only list the CSA spec.

Part of the appeal with the Sun Joe SPX3000 revolves around its applicational versatility. While you can clean your homes, buildings, vehicles, decks, patios, and hardscapes with just about any pressure washer, the SPX3000 actually features two onboard detergent tanks so that you can switch between cleaning projects seamlessly. A simple twist of a dial is all it takes to switch from one tank to the other.

Sun Joe also includes a 34″ extension wand for harder-to-access areas, and 5 Quick-Connect spray nozzles (0°, 15°, 25°, 40°, and soap) for true applicational flexibility.

TSS Trigger

The Sun Joe SPX3000 features a Total Stop System Trigger.  The TSS trigger, as the name might suggest, automatically shuts off the pump when the trigger isn’t actively engaged. This will not only save energy, but it will also extend the life of your pump.

We see one more likely reason for the Sun Joe SPX3000 being as popular as it is: its price. We’ve found it online for as little as $137.49 , which is about half of what you’d expect to pay for something comparably equipped. Further, it comes with a full 2-year warranty. If you ever have a problem or defect within two years of purchase, you can call customer service for some no-hassle support.

The Bottom Line

So, who is the Sun Joe SPX3000 really geared toward? The specs really point toward lighter duty applications. At 1450 psi, cleaning a driveway can be done, but you’ll likely have to keep the nozzle pretty close to the surface, which will narrow your cleaning swath. This will likely take the better part of the afternoon, and folks who do this type of work on the regular will likely want something with more power.

However, homeowners who want to give the siding, the patio furniture, or the cars a good soap n’ spray will find that the SPX3000 offers the capability at a really incredible price.
