Hustler HyperDrive Zero-Turns

Hustler HyperDrive zero-turns

Lawn and landscaping Pros expect a lot from their gear. But two qualities, in particular, are arguably the most important of all their must-haves: dependability and speed. Let’s face it. The grass keeps growing, and the clocks keep ticking. Commercial crews need reliable tools to serve their clients, which they have to do with confidence and efficiency. After all, time is money. With these factors in mind, we awarded the Hustler HyperDrive Zero-Turns spots on our Best Riding Lawn Mowers and Best Lawn Mower Reviews lists.

Let’s take a look at some of the features and design elements that make these ZTs stand out.

Hustler Hyperdrive Zero-Turns Performance

The HyperDrive line is about as commercial as you can get. Without question, Hustler put a lot of thought into building a machine that can take a beating and still provide years of service. Indeed, this mower’s features are testimony.

And as the old saying goes, it’s all in the name.

Take HyperDrive, for instance. Not coincidentally, this series utilizes Hustler’s proprietary HyperDrive technology, which we’re told will reduce the oil temperature in the wheel motors, extending the life of the mower’s hydraulic system.

  • Deck construction: 7-gauge steel

Specifically, Hustler included several design features in the HyperDrive zero-turns to make that happen. For example, they’ve added a 9-inch fan and high-capacity oil cooler, along with industrial-grade slipper piston pumps.

And true to the company’s name, these mowers are really fast, capable of speeds up to 16 mph. Moreover, you have two engine configurations to choose from: the Kawasaki 35 hp FX1000, the 38.5 hp FX1000 EFI, or the Vanguard 40 hp Big Block EFI.

Either way, you’ll have plenty of power.

And finally, the 7-gauge steel mower decks are available in sizes ranging from 60 to 72 inches.

On the design side, we’ll start with the HyperDrive’s handling capabilities. These mowers come equipped with Hustler’s SmoothTrak steering to enhance precision and control while cutting.

And to preserve efficiency, the driver can take advantage of the foot-operated deck to quickly adjust the cutting height from 1 to 5.5 inches (in 1/4-inch increments).

Moreover, the 12-gallon dual fuel tank should minimize time lost to refueling.

Stihl RZ 760i Zero-Turn Review
