Check Out the New Michelin Tweels
First up, Michelin has designed a new 15″ X Tweel Turf caster for larger, diesel ZTR mowers that use a 16″ drive tire. It employs a 15x6N6 size configuration that provides enhanced performance and more stability with a flat, smooth rubber tread design. This new caster wheel can fit a large range of mowers, like the John Deere Z997R Diesel. It can support up to 370 lbs and has a 16 mph rating. Look for these to hit the market in 2020.
Next, Michelin has a 22″ X Tweel Turf airless tire for the prosumer market as well. This Tweel fits either a 4X4″ or 5×4.5″ bolt pattern hubs, The 4×4″ bolt pattern edition can support a 529 lb load capacity, while the 5×4.5″ blot pattern supports up to 727 lbs. These will be available as original equipment or as an aftermarket product, and they will fit:
- Bad Boy Elite (4×4″)
- Grasshopper 700 Series (5×4.5″)
- Hustler Raptor and FasTrac (4×4″)
- Kubota SZ Stand-On and Z100 (4×4″)
Look for these Michelin Tweels to hit the market in the first quarter of 2020.
Finally, Michelin has designed Tweels exclusively for customers using the Mean Green Rival mowers in either the 52″ or 60″ deck options. They’ve engineered a new electric-motor, green-wheel hub for 24x12N12 turf tires. These have a 5×6.5″ bolt pattern and a 1.70″ offset. This addition to the new lineup of Michelin Tweels will be available sometime in the second quarter of 2020.
