Ryobi 18V ONE+ HP Brushless 10-inch Chainsaw P2520

Ryobi Boosts Power on 18V HP Chainsaw

The newest Ryobi ONE+ HP power tools have, so far, been living up to their High-Performance name. While the lineup made its debut in 2020, we’re seeing it expand this year with a ton of additional tools scheduled to release over the coming months. The Ryobi P2520 18V ONE+ HP 10-inch chainsaw joins the ranks of new high-performance tools that seem to be boosting both power and run-time.

What’s the Big Deal?

This isn’t Ryobi’s first stab at a 10″ chainsaw, but this looks like their best effort to date, particularly in terms of both power and cutting speed.

Ryobi 18V HP Chainsaw

The Ryobi P2520 chainsaw takes advantage of the power boost that comes with the High-Performance platform. Where the older P547 chain speed maxed out at 4 meters per second, the P2520 HP model delivers 85% more power, topping out at 7.9 mps.

With the kitted 4.0Ah battery, you can also expect around 69 cuts per charge.

Other Features

  • Brushless motor
  • Lightweight at 8 lbs.

Final Thoughts and Pricing

The Ryobi 18V ONE+ HP 10-inch chainsaw greatly improves upon its predecessor. It seems like a really handy homeowner tool for small storm cleanup and limbing tasks. You’re not going to cut down huge oak trees—but that’s not what Ryobi designed this saw for. By almost doubling the speed, and moving to the HP brushless motor platform, Ryobi has made this a truly useful tool with wider appeal to homeowners. At $169 for the kit, it even makes sense for Pros looking for a small-bar solution for quicker work and smaller tasks.

The battery-powered saw kit is exclusively sold at The Home Depot, either online or in-store. It comes kitted with an 18V 4.0Ah battery and charger. You can pick it up for $169, and it comes with a 3-year warranty.
