Milwaukee M18 Fuel Chainsaw

At the recent Milwaukee New Product Symposium , we had the opportunity to look at one of the newest products that the company will roll out this upcoming July. The Milwaukee M18 Fuel Chainsaw features a 16″ bar and chain, and with the new 18V 12.0Ah high-output battery packs, it should handle 150 cuts in 6X6 cedar on a single charge.

The Milwaukee M18 Fuel Chainsaw features a PowerState brushless motor that can push 6600 RPM. It includes an automatic oiler for ideal chain lubrication, as well as dual studs for the chain tensioning system. The new saw weighs in at a stout 14 lbs with the battery attached.

Expect the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Chainsaw to retail for around $399 with an HD 12.0Ah battery, charger, and scrench. The tool comes with Milwaukee’s 3-Year warranty as well.

Should be interesting to try one. Too bad my M18 string trimmer overheats when it is over 80F/25C after ~20 minutes. Also no reverse, no brush blade, on the string trimmer. Otherwise this would be a great one battery platform solution for trail clearing. When one doesn’t want to use a chainsaw, or is cutting in the dirt – like roots, a reciprocating saw with a pruning saw blade is great.
