Troy-Bilt Wheeled Trimmer Mower TB22TM

Troy-Bilt Trimmer Mower

Troy-Bilt Trimmer Mower Manages Walls and Fence Lines Comfortably

Troy-Bilt has another OPE tool, this one designed to clear the remnants from spring and summer. The TB22TM Troy-Bilt Wheeled Trimmer Mower, with its 22-inch cutting swath and offset deck, has all the tools to clear overgrown beds, wilting annuals, or unruly and woody overgrowth up against walls and fence lines. And with its large rear wheels, it helps you clean up comfortably. It looks very similar to the Briggs-powered DR trimmer mower which got some attention on late night infomercials.

10-Second Summary

  • Model: Troy-Bilt TB22TM
  • 22-inch cutting swath
  • 14″ rear wheels
  • Offset and low-profile cutting deck
  • Square .155″ cutting line
  • 140cc 4-cycle Troy-Bilt engine with AutoChoke
  • Adjustable cutting height from 2.3″ to 4.3″
  • Warranty: 2-year limited residential

Key Features

As a cross between a string trimmer and a push mower, the Troy-Bilt TB22TM pulls double-duty around your lawn. With large 14-inch rear wheels, you can comfortably maneuver around your property with increased traction. It does so without straining your back as a handheld trimmer tends to do.

Troy-Bilt Trimmer Mower

Unlike a traditional lawnmower, the Troy-Bilt Trimmer Mower offers an offset deck that lets you get right up on fence lines and walls. It features a low-profile design that can reach under shrubs and fence stiles to clear out low growth.

However, more like a traditional mower, the TB22TM features a 22-inch cutting swatch to clear large areas quickly. It uses heavy-duty 0.155″ square trimmer line. So, while you won’t use an actual cutting blade, you’ll have a beefy enough line to clear through small branches and thicker vegetation. You can also adjust the cut height anywhere between 2.3 and 4.3 inches.

Under the Hood

The Troy-Bilt Trimmer Mower features a Troy-Bilt 140cc 4-cycle OHV engine. It features AutoChoke, making it a breeze to start up without any priming or choking. This engine differs considerably from the 2-cycle offerings present in the DR Power lineup. The plug is easy to access, and you can inspect and change the air filter without needing any tools.

Final Thoughts

This supercharged string trimmer (mower) retails for $329. That price includes a 2-year residential warranty. This looks like a great solution for clearing out wet ditches or anywhere you’ve got thick brush and grass that would present a challenge to a traditional string trimmer or mower. We also like this design for its ease of use over a trimmer. When it comes to tackling larger areas of overgrowth, having a wheeled solution makes for a much less strenuous job.

Like much of the Troy-Bilt catalog, you’ll likely be able to find the TB22TM at Home Depot eventually. For more information about the TB22TM Trimmer Mower, visit the Troybilt website .
