EGO Nexus Solar Panel Charger | Coming Soon

EGO Solar Panel Charger Lets You Recharge with Almost Any Solar Panels

You’ve waited and waited, and the day is almost here. You’ll soon be able to charge your EGO Nexus Power Station the way nature intended: by harnessing the power of the sun. Coming to Lowe’s in March, the EGO Nexus Solar Panel Charger (EGO CH1800) lets you use just about any solar panel with a standard connection to recharge your Nexus.

While EGO doesn’t manufacture solar panels—that actually makes sense. Why reinvent the wheel when literally dozens of manufacturers already provide options for solar panels .

What’s the Big Deal?

We really like that the EGO CH1800 Nexus Solar Panel Charger doesn’t lock you into a particular solar panel platform. Rather, you can use any aftermarket panel you want. It just needs the standard MC4 connections and must fall within EGO’s spec range.

EGO CH1800 Nexus Solar Panel Charger

Those specs look like pretty standard fare as well. The EGO Nexus Solar Panel Charger tackles 180 W max input power and 12V maximum input voltage. EGO recommends the Renogy RNG-100D-SS or the Grapesolar G-STAR-100W solar panels, but you can use whatever you want as long as you keep to those aforementioned specs.

In any case, the CH1800 looks like it makes for a really useful accessory for anyone looking for an off-grid power solution or as an emergency backup for a few necessary appliances.

EGO CH1800 Pricing & Availablity

EGO is planning for a tentative release of the Nexus Solar Panel Charger for the first week of March. It will be available at Lowe’s, and will retail for $149.99.
