Gerber Truss Multi-Tool

Gerber Truss

Strictly speaking, leatherman-style tools might not fit quite so neatly into the “OPE” category, but there’s no doubt that they can be helpful with various tasks on the site. This is especially true for the lawn pro who doesn’t carry around a full toolbox to his various lawn accounts. The Gerber Truss multi-tool combines 17 tools in one sleek, compact, Leatherman-style tool that fits neatly onto your belt. Whether you come across a task that requires cutting, sawing, measuring, screwing, unscrewing, grabbing, poking, opening, or filing, this multi-tool has your bases covered.

Gerber TrussGerber Truss Multi-Tool Features

  • 17 tools
  • All outboard tools
  • All locking tools
  • Spring-loaded pliers
  • Low-profile sheath that can mount vertically or horizontally on belt
  • The handle is constructed from a single piece of steel; added strength in a slimmer design

Gerber Design

When folded up away stashed away in its handy sheath, the Gerber Truss takes up a mere 4.35″ x 0.66″ worth of space on your belt. It weighs in at a mere 8.4 oz as well. The chances are pretty good that, until you need it, you won’t really even notice that it’s there.

However, when something goes awry, this multi-tool gives you all the utility that a couple pairs of spring-loaded pliers and 4 screwdrivers (both flat and Philips’ heads) can provide. The Gerber Truss also includes a saw, an awl, a file, a tiny pair of scissors, wire snips, wire strippers, a serrated blade, a fine edge blade, a can opener, and a bottle opener. All of the tools within the handle will automatically lock into place, minimizing the number of injuries that would come from tools folding back over onto your fingers.

The Gerber Truss retails for around $40,  which doesn’t seem too crazy for this type of utility. Plus, because Gerber has constructed this multi-tool from a single piece of steel, the durability should be on-point.
