GreenWorks 80V Chainsaw Review
When I was a kid I lived near the Rocky Mountains of Montana for a couple years with my father. One of his closest friends had a rather large family, and they took us on a salmon snag-fishing adventure that included, among other things, sleeping outside in an honest-to-goodness hand-made American Indian teepee. It was […]
EGO 56V Cordless Chainsaw Review
It’s clear that we’ve been impressed to-date with most of the tools from the EGO 56V cordless tools line. It’s not that battery powered tools are the right solution for every single application. More and more, however, these are the pros and serious DIYers are turning to when they come home to do their landscaping […]
Kobalt 40V Max Lithium-Ion Mower, Blower, and Chainsaw
Mission launch code word: “Irene.” Do you recall the scene from the movie Black Hawk Down just before the code word “Irene” is called out? – The soldiers are gearing up – boots laced, weapons checked, magazines and ammo checked- the tension is high and the Rangers and Delta Team are excited. . What does […]
Echo Timber Wolf CS-590 Chainsaw Review
When I was asked to review the Echo Timber Wolf CS-590 chainsaw as a heavy-duty saw, I’ll admit that I was a bit skeptical. I am used to some of the other big-name commercial saws and Echo just is not a brand that is traditionally mentioned in that mix. As I began to take a […]
Echo CS-400 Chainsaw Review
Reviewing a chainsaw can be a little tricky because we have found that people treat chainsaws and their brands like they do their vehicles. Ford hates Chevy, Dodge is better than Toyota… you get the idea. When we agreed to review the ECHO CS-400 18″ Chainsaw it was with the knowledge that we were going to put it into the hands of some guys who had years and years of professional tree trimming under their belts. The trouble was, they both used a competing brand. With a predisposition towards bias – because that’s just how we operate as humans – I submitted my product to them for use and tagged along to try it out alongside them, hoping to provide any necessary “balance” to their biased opinions. Turned out I got worked up over nothing… and they were downright surprised at how well the ECHO performed. One of them was quoted as saying: “this is the best chainsaw I’ve ever used that wasn’t touting itself as a pro-only model”. Not bad… not bad at all.
Stihl RZ 760i Zero-Turn Review
In the world of outdoor power equipment, Stihl is an icon–no argument about it. Their classic orange and white color scheme immediately brings to mind the sounds of string trimmers, blowers, and, of course, chainsaws. And the brand is no stranger to mowers, either. Yet, that doesn’t mean they’ve done it all. Even a company […]
Milwaukee M18 Fuel Pole Saw (Model 3013) Review
At OPE, we’ve covered our fair share of Milwaukee’s M18 battery-powered outdoor fleet. To put it another way, we’re fans. In this case, the brand’s Quik-Lok system has been the only pole saw working on this setup. That is, until recently because Milwaukee announced the release of its new M18 Fuel Pole Saw, the Model […]
