Mean Green Solar Assisted Mower (SAM) Option

Mean Green Solar Assisted Mower SAM Option

Mean Green Solar Assisted Mower Moves Lawn Care to the Space Age

Last year when we were at the GIE+EXPO , we caught sight of the battery-powered Mean Green CXR-52 and CXR-60 commercial electric ZTR mowers. Just last month, they introduced us to S.A.M. – Mean Green’s Solar Assisted Mower. The Mean Green Solar Assisted Mower is an optional solar canopy that can be added to their line of commercial electric mowers.

SAM is designed, engineered, and manufactured in USA. As an add-on to its low noise, zero emission commercial mower, it not only increases productivity but saves you money on the already low-cost electric recharging. During sunny days, the Mean Green Solar Assisted Mower panel extends run times beyond their all-day capability. Just like any other solar panel, it works by collecting the sun’s energy and converting it to tradition power for Mean Green “Green Lithium” battery packs that power the CXR-52 and CXR-60 riding mowers.

“Our NexGen CXR ZTR electric mower with the new S.A.M. option allows our company to take a giant leap into the future of commercial mowing. No longer are we bound to inefficient, polluting internal combustion engine mowers of our grandparents’ era. Now, everyone has the option of choosing a clean, economical, efficient mower that delivers us to the future of the commercial landscape industry.”

– Joe Conrad, Mean Green Mowers President

In addition to saving money on gas and maintenance, when you purchase the Mean Green Solar Assisted Mower (SAM) together with the new CXR mower, you may qualify for a 30 percent Federal Solar Tax Credit up $5610 on a fully equipped model. For a limited time, the Mean Green Solar Assisted Mower also qualifies you for an instant Factory CXR Mower Rebate of $1,100, plus another $300 rebate if you’re an AGZA member. “The NexGen CXR mower is the accumulation of years of field testing and development. Along with the new S.A.M. option, the CXR boasts a much more substantial use of hybrid construction materials such as military grade aluminum alloys and high strength steel. The patent pending CXR hasMean Green Solar Assisted Mower (SAM) feature a newly designed, patent pending Green Lithium battery system capable of 20% longer run time than last year’s already impressive all day run-times. With S.A.M., the run times are increased even more! Even though the higher capacity Green Lithium batteries weigh slightly more, the overall weight of the machine is actually 10% less than before thanks to the new use of space-age construction materials. The final result is a quiet, powerful, zero emission, all battery-electric commercial mower weighing less than most commercial gas mowers that is capable of harvesting free energy from the sun that can run all day long”.

– Joe Conrad

It does seem rather strange to see the direct parallel between what NASA produced for the Mars Rover and how we’re using similar solar recharging of lithium-ion batteries to power lawn maintenance with our feet firmly planted on Earth’s ground. Mean Green has been innovative in this category, but I’d say they’ve only scratched the surface of what is going to be available as technology improves. .

Ryobi 4 Cycle Trimmer RY34440 Review

Ryobi’s RY34440 4-cycle string trimmer promises, among other things, quieter operation and greater fuel efficiency. It’s a “green” product (in more ways than one) that delivers less fuss when fueling since you don’t need to pre-mix your oil and gas. It also works with Ryobi’s Expand-it line of attachments – which are even backwards compatible with products I bought over 10 years ago. The 4-cycle trimmer comes with just the string trimmer attachment, but does include both a bump head and a pro-style head that facilitates easy string replacement and will handle larger diameter string (and more efficiently to boot).

Ryobi Touchstart Straight Shaft Trimmer Review

Several companies have designed and patented different technologies to make starting trimmers easier. While for many this involves a sophisticated pull system, Ryobi has opted to use a 12V battery and an electric starter system to automate this process. This adds a little weight to the overall product, but with a 30cc engine and a push-button start, this may be the perfect product for teenagers and older consumers looking to get away from the often back-breaking starting process experienced with many trimmers.
