82-Volt Greenworks Brushless Pole Saw Unveiled

Greenworks 82V Brushless Pole Saw

Greenworks Commercial recently unveiled a new addition to their line of battery-powered landscaping and turf management tools. The new Greenworks Brushless Pole Saw runs on their 82Volt line of battery packs, granting users the same power and runtime of gas-powered models. However, because the new pole saw runs on a brushless electric motor rather than gas, the new saw produces less noise and vibration, as well as zero emissions.  Greenworks claims their new brushless pole saw provides best-in-class torque and product life, packaged together in one maintenance-free, ecologically-friendly unit.

From Greenworks

“Thanks to their ability to provide incredible performance without disturbing the serenity of the natural environment, while saving users money over time, our 82-volt line has caught on quickly among professional landscapers and golf course superintendents. We are excited to expand that popular family of tools with an exciting new Brushless Pole Saw that truly lives up to the Greenworks name and our brand’s reputation for high-performing, environmentally-responsible tools.”
-Chris Allen, President of Greenworks North America

About The Greenworks Brushless Pole Saw

Greenworks Brushless Pole SawGreenworks claims that their new commercial-grade, 82V saw provides all the power and functionality that landscape and turf management professionals need from their tools. The new pole saw features a 10″Oregon bar and chain design. It also includes a tool-less chain tension adjustment, located on the side of the saw head. The 3-piece aluminum alloy shaft can extend from 8′ to 12′, and it features Greenworks’ quick connections that make assembly and extension simple.

The head of the saw features a 27° angle for safe and convenient overhead sawing. For added convenience and durability, Greenworks worked in an auto oiler to the top of the saw head. This keeps the chain lubed up for optimal cutting, but also extends the life of the chain. A pull-trigger start-up makes firing up the saw a breeze.

This unit runs on any of Greenworks’ 2.5Ah, 4.0Ah, or 5.0Ah 100% recyclable batteries. Generally, a user can expect to be able to make anywhere from 105 to 240 cuts per charge, depending on their battery.

The Greenworks Brushless Pole Saw retails for around $239.00 and includes a scabbard and shoulder harness. It also features a 2-Year Limited Powertrain Warranty and a 60-Day Limited Warranty on wearable parts. Batteries are sold separately.Greenworks Brushless Pole Saw

Final Thoughts

Greenworks’ 82V battery powered line seems to be the one they’re really pushing for the pro market right now. They have a 40V, 60V, and 80V line as well, and they seem to target the earth-friendly, “Green” demographic. All battery-powered equipment has the same ecological advantages as these Greenworks lines, though I’m not aware of too many that boast the same kind of power and runtime as the Greenworks Brushless Pole Saw.

We haven’t had the chance to review too many of the Greenworks 82V line, so it’s a little hard to say exactly how this pole saw will perform, but we’re optimistic. The advertised runtime is pretty solid. If the power is there as well, this could potentially be a good line to buy into if you’re trying to move away from gas power.
