Stihl HSA 130 R Hedge Trimmer

Stihl HSA 130 R

Hands down, Stihl is a household name when it comes to chainsaws. Actually, it’s a pretty big name throughout the overall OPE universe. That goes for its hedge trimmers, and we’ve had positive things to say about their products in this arena. Indeed, the 36V HSA 94 T made our Best Cordless Hedge Trimmer Reviews list, so it’s only right that we take a look at the Stihl HSA 130 R to see what it has to offer.

Stihl HSA 130 R Hedge Trimmer Features

First, it’s important to establish what a solid hedge trimmer does.

Trimming your shrubs is a delicate procedure, requiring precision-centric performance. This isn’t quick, chop-and-lop work.

The team at Stihl seems to have kept this in mind when designing the HSA 130 R. According to the manufacturer, they built this tool to combine high torque and low blade speeds with wide tooth spacing.

Together, that means you should see powerful cutting, even on heavily overgrown hedges.

Furthermore, like most Stihl cordless products, the HSA 130 R features a brushless motor, and notably, has no onboard battery slot. Instead, the design team included a 36V pack that the operator can carry in either a backpack or belt setup.

Stihl tells us that the advantage here is weight. As they explain it, taking the battery off of the tool itself makes it more maneuverable and reduces the likelihood of fatigue on more involved jobs.

In terms of trimming, this tool’s 24″ laser-cut, double-sided blade operates at speeds of up to 3,200 strokes per minute.

Stihl HSA 130 R Design

For one, this trimmer is a two-handed design. That means that you can adjust the cutting speed using a rear trigger control to help aid in precise cuts. Moreover, it accommodates left- and right-handed users.

Additionally, Stihl gave this model a soft rubber handle to improve grip, and it should also increase comfort during long work periods.

Finally, it has an IPX4 rating, so you don’t have to run for cover at the first sign of rain.

HSA 130 R Trimmer Price
